The sweeping is to mechanically clean the inside of your flues, a verification of the installation must be done systematically during visits and a certificate will be issued with notification of defects.

31.6. Maintenance, cleaning and sweeping
Fireplaces and their accessories, individual and collective flues and connecting pipes
must be maintained, cleaned and swept under the following conditions: - Individual heating, hot water or cooking appliances, as well as their hoses
must be checked, cleaned and adjusted at least once
per year and more often if necessary depending on the conditions and the duration of use. - In the case of collective equipment, these operations will be carried out at the initiative of the owner or
trustee. Smoke flues usually in operation and serving residential premises
and associated professional premises, must be swept 2 times per year, including once during the
period of use. - These operations are carried out at the initiative of the user for conduits serving appliances
individual owners, or the owner or manager if they serve public - They must be carried out by a company qualified for this purpose by the professional body of the
qualification and classification of the building. A sweeping certificate must be given to the user
specifying the flue (s) exhausted and attesting in particular to the emptiness of the duct on any
its length. - However, when the connected appliances are powered by gaseous fuels, the ducts
cased ducts and ducts which have never been used for the evacuation of the products of the
burning solid or liquid fuels may be swept only once a year. We hear
by sweeping, cleaning by direct mechanical action of the inner wall of the flue to
to remove soot and deposits and ensure the emptiness of the conduit over its entire length. - The use of fire or explosives is strictly prohibited for chimney sweeping. - Devices allowing access to all parts of the smoke and ventilation ducts shall
be established where necessary and maintained in a good state of use to enable and facilitate
maintenance and sweeping operations. - After any accident, fire, including chimney fire or execution of work, the owner or
the user of the conduit must have it inspected by the installer or any other person skilled in the art who
establishes a certificate, as stated in the 5th paragraph of this article.
The competent authority may prohibit the use of conduits and apparatus pending their restoration in good condition
